Phase during mitosis when the nucleus converts back to its interphase state.
Telophase begins as anaphase ends, that is, as daughter chromosomes reach opposite poles of cells, where the nucleus will reform.
Note that the nucleus forms in part from the fragments of the nucleus that otherwise disappeared from the parent cell during prophase.
