The polyp cnidarian form is that of the Sea anenome, corals, and hydras.

Note that many cnidarians alternate between polyp and medusa forms, with the polyp form in this case the asexual phase. This is not alternation of generations, however, since both forms are diploid animals with the medusa form generated asexually and the polyp form generated sexually.
