Information flow within cells consisting of replication, transcription, and translation along with variations especially on transcription.

This is the central dogma specifically of molecular genetics.

Central Dogma Central Dogma

Note the lack of information from from polypeptide/protein back to nucleic acid, which is not a component of the central dogma and indeed within the context of molecular genetics really doesn't occur. Information nonetheless does flow from proteins, or phenotype, back to nucleic acid, or genotype, via the process of natural selection. That is, that genotype information which produces less fit phenotype information tends to be lost from populations.
