Circulatory System

The beating of the heart is the means by which blood is pushed through blood vessels.

The heart consists of ventricles, atria, heart valves, and multiple layers of tissue including, going from inside to outside, the endocardium, myocardium, epicardium, and the rest of the pericardium.

The above video considers circulatory systems as seen in a diversity of animals; a fair amount of the emphasis is on the heart but it does present the true distinction between what is an artery and what is a vein, and a focus on blood and blood vessels themselves begins at 5:58 and then returns to consideration of the heart again at 8:17.

The above video provides a nice introduction to both the respiratory system and cardiovascular system.
